Summer Basketball + Cheer Camp

June 12 – 15 / 6:30-8P

This summer we’re doing our camps a little differently. If you’ve done our summer camps in the past we’ve held them on Wednesday nights throughout June and July and have included Soccer, Basketball and Cheerleading. We’re changing it up and are now going to host a week long camp each June. We will rotate what we offer each summer and this summer we’re offering Basketball + Cheer Camps!

Who are the Camps for?

Our Basketball Camp is open to all boys and girls ages 4-11. Cheer camp is only open for girls ages 5-11.

What is a night at camp like?

Camp is held from 6:30-8p. Campers will be split into groups by age and each group will have a Coach and Assistant Coaches that will stay with them the whole night. Campers will begin each night with some fun skits in our church Auditorium before heading out to rotate through various skill stations. Towards the end of camp each team will return to the Auditorium for a short Bible lesson focused on our theme verse from 1 Corinthians 10:31, “So, whether you eat or drink, do all to the glory of God.”

Where are camps held?

Both Basketball and Cheer camp will be held at our main campus at 1017 N School St in Normal.

How does check-in/pick-up work at camp?

We’ve had to change things around this week as the company we are working with to repave our parking lot has just changed their schedule and is now coming during our camp. Our process for check-in and pick-up with work the same as usual but we will be doing it from inside the church rather than out on the lawn.

Our registration at camp opens at 6p each night with camp starting at 6:30p. Our only available entrance to our parking lot will be the north entrance on School St. There will be parking avaiilable behind our building and signs to direct you from there through the correct doors to the check-in tables. You will return to this same area for pick-up.

We will give your child a wrist band with a number and will give you (the parent/guardian) a pick up card with that same number. Once campers are checked in they will wait with their coach until camp begins.

Camp ends at 8P and all campers will wait in the Auditorium. At pick-up time bring your parent pick up card back to the check-in tables and a volunteer will retreve your child(ren) from the Auditorium. Please wait patiently at the pick-up tables for us to bring you your child(ren). This ensures the safety of all children and that they all are picked up by the correct adults.

Will there be a snack time or water break?

Yes. We will have water filled coolers throughout camp available for campers as needed but you are welcome to bring your own water bottles if you wish. There will be a station campers will rotate to in which they will enjoy a quick snack.

If your child has a food allergy, please let us know when you register. We will make adjustments for any food allergy but if you feel more comfortable providing your own snack for your child that is okay as well.

What happens if there is inclement weather?

Since our Basketball and Cheer camps are at our main facility, we will make necessary accommodations for inclement weather during camp. Always watch your email as we will send any necessary updates to you in that way.

Can I stay and watch camp?

Yes! Parents are welcome to bring a chair and stay to watch their kids enjoy camp or if you want to drop them off and use that time for yourselves that’s great too! Campers are spread out throughout the building so you can follow the list below to make note of areas your camper will be at, and there will be directional signs within the building to help you find them. You are also welcome to sit in the back of the Auditorium during “Tip Off” and “Overtime” each night when the kids are enjoying that time.
